Common questions about FabLabs

I want to use a FabLab for making things / I want to visit

Each FabLab operates differently. Some may require advance reservations, so please check the detailed usage conditions on each website. The basic principle is that users learn to operate the equipment and do the fabrication themselves. Please note that this is different from digital fabrication services.

I want to establish a new FabLab

If you are considering establishing a new FabLab, please refer to the "How to Build a FabLab: New Establishment Guide." It contains the necessary information and conditions for establishment.

I want to use the name "FabLab XX" / I want permission to use the name

FabLab Japan Network does not certify or approve facility names. The international consensus is that anyone can use the FabLab name as long as they meet the conditions for using the FabLab name.

I want to join FabLab Japan Network

We welcome participation from operators, those in planning stages, and supporters. To maintain face-to-face relationships, joining requires a recommendation from a FabLab operator.

I want my lab listed on the website

Only officially opened facilities that are members of FabLab Japan Network are listed. Please first apply to join the network.

I want to request coverage or lectures / I want to discuss various collaborations
